Deeper diving can be very exciting and exhilerating and like all types of diving there are special considerations that need to be made to ensure
diver safety at these greater depths.
The SSI Deep Diver Course is a must for any diver wishing to explore a little more, go a little deeper, and learn the risks and benefits associated with deep diving. Many interesting sights lay just beyond open water diver training
limits of 18 metres, such as: beautiful wall dives, shipwrecks, and also some marine creatures that don't come into the shallows, including many of the large pelagic hunting fish, such as tuna.
The SSI Deep Diving course provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to safely conduct open water dives to depths between 18 and a maximum of 40 meters. By the end of the course your knowledge, awareness, and comfort level with deep
diving activities will have increased. Our aim at Lanzarote Dive Centre is to provide you with the knowledge and skills that will make you comfortable and safe when making those deeper dives.

What's Next?
The SSI Wreck Diving course is a natural companion to deep diving as is the SSI Decompression Diving course so you can extend your 40m bottom time.

What if I need more dives to achieve the standard?
It is possible to do more dives to achieve the minimum course standards for certification, this is time permitting and there is an additional cost of 55,00€/dive.
What is the maximum group size for this course?
Maximum 4 divers.
Is it safe to dive deeper?
Yes, it is safe to dive deeper, provided that you have taken a recognised course in Deep Diving and you follow your training. For increased safety, we also recommend being a certified Nitrox diver.
