Why Learn TDI Technical Diving Courses with Us?

Lanzarote Dive Centre is a TDI (Technical Diving International) 5 Star Instructor Training Facility on the island of Lanzarote. What's more is that we have on staff our full-time resident Technical Instructor Paul Slater #20500. He can teach the full range of courses: Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, Deco Procedures, Helitrox, Extended Range, Trimix and Advanced Trimix diver courses. Paul is also a CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreather) Instructor on the AP Inspiration series and the SF2 in both backmount and sidemount configurations from Module 1 through to Module 3.

Divers thinking of becoming a technical diver need to have Deep and Nitrox certifications and start with the Intro to Tech course which teaches the knowledge and skills to dive on a twinset, the perfect grounding for increasing depth and dive time on the Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses to a max depth of 45m with limited decompression.

Usually the Advanced Nitrox and Decompression courses are taught together as they perfectly compliment each other. Having completed them progression on to Helitrox and later on having gained some diving experience, Trimix and then Advanced Trimix with a maximum depth of 100m. When you've completed the full trimix diver course you'll be ready to tackle some of the best wrecks in the world.

Popular course combinations include Intro to Tech with Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures with the upgrade to Helitrox Diver. This gives a max depth of 45m, upto 20% helium and up to 15 minutes of decompression.

Paul has done hundreds of technical dives with the deepest being 107m on his AP Inspiration Vision rebreather and looks forward to sharing his passion for technical diving with you.

Lanzarote is an amazing place to start your Technical Diving Adventure, we have easy access to dive sites, no slogging your kit over rocks or down cliff faces. Main dive sites are locacted within 15 minutes of the Dive Centre, and finally we have more than 100m of depth at most sites if needed.

In Lanzarote the marine ecology is totally amazing between 40-60m offering amazing soft corals very rarely seen by technical divers and larger fish such as giant barracuda, tuna, binto and giant Altanic stingrays. If you are very lucky then there is also a chance to see Sunfish (Mola Mola), Manta Rays and Hammerhead or Thresher sharks.

Why Lanzarote: Simple we are around 4 hours from most major airports throughout Europe. All year round diving with water temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees. We have very little rain. At the dive centre we have all the Technical diving kit that you'll need, the gases, stage cylinders and twinsets and technical sidemount options and the technical teaching ability to make your Technical adventures fun and safe!
