Helitrox

Adding Helium to the Mix

Diving deeper exposes your to more and greater risks including the effects of nitrogen narcosis. You can reduce its effect with the additional of a little touch of helium in your nitrox gas mix, hence the term helitrox. Explore the theory, methods and procedures for diving on helium.

You'll learn in a safe, fun environment how to plan and safely conduct staged decompression dives to a maximum certification depth of 45 metres using a breathing gases with a maximum of 35% helium and a minimum of 21% oxygen, and upto 100% oxygen for decompression. You'll look at equipment requirements and considerations, gear set up, environmental considerations as well as decompression techniques.

Who is this course for?
Any certified Advanced Diver or Intro to Tech Diver who is looking to safely extend their bottom time using helium.
Any certified Advanced Diver or Intro to Tech Diver who would like to further expand their decompression diving theory and decompression diving techniques.
Any certified Advanced Diver or Intro to Tech Diver who is interested in moving forward with their technical diver training.

Which courses compliment the TDI Helitrox Course?
The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses are often combined and the TDI Helitrox is a great upgrade and introduction to learning the theory, dive planning, procedures and considerations when using trimix.

What's next?
Time for some technical dives to gain some experience before taking the TDI Extended Range Course or TDI Trimix Course.

Perhaps it's time to consider a TDI Rebreather Try Dive or course.
