Enriched Air Nitrox, or EANx or just Nitrox, is one of the most popular specialty courses and it will change your diving for the better, making it safer for you, especially on those deeper dives.
Nitrox is a breathing gas that has a lot of benefits for both new and experienced divers. The reason for this is the reduced percentage of nitrogen which extends the possible dive time, and reduces the risk of decompression sickness.
Nitrox is an air mix with an oxygen content above 21%. Reducing the proportion of nitrogen by increasing the proportion of oxygen, means staying down longer and getting back in the water quicker. On this course you will learn how to
safely dive on Nitrox mixtures from 22 - 40 percent oxygen and enjoy the benefits of longer no decompression limit diving and shorter surface intervals. Don't worry, there is always time for a cup of coffee between dives!

What skills will I learn?
You will learn:
- how to use and calibrate an oxygen gas analyser
- how to analyse your cylinder of gas
- how to mark up your cylinder and log your gas mix.
If using one of our Cressi dive computers we
will also teach you how to set the Nitrox percentage and the ppO2. If you already have a dive computer of your own then it is your responsibility to know how it works and how to set it.
What are the minimum & maximum age limits for diving on Nitrox?
You need to be a minimum of 10 years old; there is no upper age limit. To register for the Nitrox course, children aged 10-17 years old, must have parental consent.
What do I need to bring with me?
You don't need to bring anything as we provide the O2 analyser and the cylinders/gases for anaylzing.
If you would like to to the 2 recommended optional guided dives then obviously you will need full diving equipment,
which we can hire to you if you don't have your own.

What is the maximum certification depth for diving on Nitrox?
Your maximum certification depth is determined by your diver level certification, e.g. 40m for a certified Deep Diver however the Nitrox percentage that you are breathing may reduce your safe maximum depth, for example breathing
Nitrox 32% has a maximum operating depth of 30m
Is it safe to dive on Nitrox?
Yes, extensive research supports that diving on Nitrox is safe when diving on it following the no decompression limits and when monitoring your oxygen exposure.
